Daisy May Cooper has shown off her new engagement ring for the first time, following reports last month that she got ‘secretly engaged’ to beau Anthony Huggins. The 38-year-old This Country star was snapped in New York with Anthony on Monday, looking loved-up as they strolled to the cinema, Daisy’s new diamond sparkler taking pride of place on her ring finger. The rumour mill went into overdrive about Anthony’s proposal last month when Daisy, while promoting up her BBC series Am I Being Unreasonable? on Instagram Stories, casually dropped the term ‘fiancé’ referring to Anthony. She playfully mentioned that her “fit fiance and baby daddy” might pop up on the show.

The couple, who hit it off on the dating app Hinge back in December 2021, became parents to their adorable son Benji in June last year. Daisy took to Instagram to share the arrival of their bundle of joy, revealing he made an early entrance and brought with him some post-birth challenges, writing: “You came a bit earlier than we expected and gave me the worst post op constipation that I nearly had to phone the Samaritans but my god you are perfect.” She also expressed immense gratitude towards @deliverysuitegrh, praising their exceptional care during such an intense time: “I cannot thank @deliverysuitegrh enough. The way you looked after us through such a scary time was above and beyond.” Last month, reports surfaced that Daisy and Anthony were blissfully engaged and absolutely ‘over the moon’ after a hush-hush proposal. A source spilled to The Sun: “Daisy and Anthony are madly in love with each other and are a success story for dating apps. Their relationship has gone from strength to strength and already have a baby boy together.”

Besides their son Benji, Daisy is also mum to Pip, five, and Jack, three, whom she shares with her ex-husband Will Weston. Daisy and Will called it quits in July 2021, just five months before she met Anthony. Daisy tied the knot with landscape gardener Will on 21 September 2019, but their marriage sadly only lasted two years as the pressures of the Covid-19 pandemic took a toll on their relationship. Opening up to The Times, Daisy confessed: “Will is amazing, an incredible, incredible dad – but fundamentally, there wasn’t real love there, I don’t think there ever was, really,”. She further revealed that the lockdown “shone a spotlight” on their marital issues and that she needed some alone time after the strains of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Daisy’s new engagement ring sits above a tattoo previously dedicated to another ex, chef Ryan Weymouth. She appears to have since covered the ‘Ryan’ ink with another tattoo. Anthony, who reportedly has two children from a previous relationship and works as a DJ on the Bristol clubbing scene, is said to have moved into Daisy’s Cotswolds home in 2023.
