Privacy NoticeThe Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently released an unexpected statement ahead of the US Presidential Election which has led a PR expert to say the couple disregard “royal guidelines and customs” and have chosen to focus on their global brand instead. The pair’s Archewell Foundation website commemorated National Voter Registration Day by encouraging voter sign-up before the November 5 election. The message began: “Using Vote Forward’s impactful letter-writing tool, our team wrote personalized letters encouraging unregistered voters to take a crucial step: registering to vote.” In a powerful call to action, the foundation stressed the importance of voting: “Voting is not just a right; it’s a fundamental way to influence the fate of our communities.

“At The Archewell Foundation, we recognize that civic engagement, no matter one’s political party, is at the heart of a more just and equitable world. By participating in initiatives like this, we aim to amplify the message that every voice matters.” A PR expert has claimed that their message was “in line” with their global brand of doing “what they want, without any thought towards royal guidelines or customs”. Renae Smith, founder and director of the Atticism, told Express.co.uk: “From a PR perspective, their statement on the US elections likely won’t have a significant impact, either positively or negatively.”

Prince Harry will return to the UK next week for an awards ceremony

Prince Harry’s statement comes ahead of his upcoming trip to the UK for the WellChild Awards on September 30 does not look to involve a Royal Family reunion. Royal expert claims the Duke of Sussex probably won’t meet with his father, King Charles, during his fourth visit. King Charles and Queen Camilla are set for a momentous engagement at the Scottish Parliament on September 28 to celebrate its 25th anniversary. As the event precedes Harry’s commitment, the King is likely to remain in Scotland, reducing the chances of a father-son encounter. Rebecca English from the Daily Mail shared insights on Palace Confidential: “The King and Queen have got a big engagement in Scotland, on Saturday (September 28) they’re going to the Scottish Parliament.

“So a very significant event. Harry’s event is on a Monday and while no-one’s saying quite yet, I’ve been led to understand that the chances are he [King Charles] will be staying in Scotland, so there could be a change but it would have to be Harry having to go see him and I think that’s quite unlikely.” “The King and Queen have got a big engagement in Scotland, on Saturday (September 28) they’re going to the Scottish Parliament.
