Privacy NoticePrincess Anne and Lady Louise Windsor were caught sharing a heart-warming moment during a royal event earlier this summer. The Princess Royal attended the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo back in August, where her young niece was there to welcome her in her new role. Recently shared snaps by a royal enthusiast on social media show Anne grinning at Louise, 20, as she descends the steps to take her place in the Royal Box. Anne was accompanied by her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence. The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh’s daughter, dressed in uniform, returned her aunt’s smile broadly. Royal fans adored the sweet exchange between the two royals and expressed their affection, reports the Express.

One user wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “I think her auntie is proud of Lady Louise!” Another added: “Lovely picture – I wouldn’t venture to comment but it’s somebody the Princess Royal is obviously delighted to see!” One person gushed: “Lovely warm smiles between her and aunt Anne the Princess Royal.” Another added: “Look at the smiles. I think lady Louise was a surprise to princess Anne, but a lovely welcome surprise.” Another also remarked: “Awww look at Princess Anne’s face looking at Lady Louise.” Established in 1950, the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo typically takes place every year in August on the Esplanade of Edinburgh Castle, with a live audience of 220,000. Lady Louise, who is studying at St Andrews, is part of the Officers’ Training Corps (UOTC) and reportedly has her sights set on becoming the first female member of the Royal Family to actively serve in the military since the late Queen.
