Kate Middleton’s parenting hack came into play during Trooping the Colour last year when her youngest was wowing royal fans with his humorous behaviour. Back in 2023, the Wales family were the centre of attention as they rode together in a carriage at Trooping the Colour. During this royal event, the mum-of-three used a clever tactic to keep them in line, according to a body language expert. Judi James revealed to The Sun’s Fabulous how the future Queen managed to parent the trio during the public-facing outing. “Kate’s firm but subtle signals ensure the children keep feeling enthusiastic and, in Louis’ case, excited,” she observed.

The expert further noted: “Talking to her children there were a couple of gestures of what looked like guidance about when to wave. There was also a spreading gesture of both hands that would normally mean quite a severe message of when to stop or what not to do, too. She also put her hands below public view in the carriage to mime that ‘stop’ or ‘end’ sign to them as though warning them where the boundaries were, and on the way back she was doing small reward nods and smiles for their good behaviour, to ensure they were enjoying the event too.” Despite Kate’s presence, her youngest son Louis couldn’t help but capture all the attention with his cheeky antics, including making faces, saluting, and playfully sticking his tongue out during the formal events. He even reacted dramatically to the smell of horse manure on their procession from Buckingham Palace, comically holding his nose, reports the Mirror.

It’s becoming clear that whenever the royals make an appearance on the balcony, all eyes are on Louis. Back in 2022, he was the life of the party next to the Queen during the Trooping flypast, bouncing around zealously and, as reported by a lip reader, proudly shouting “Look at me waving!” and gasping “Woah” to his mother. Also sharing cute exchanges with his great-grandmother, he excitedly asked about the Red Arrows, with the Queen affably replying, “I hope so.” As the roar of more jets filled the air, Louis enthusiastically waved, covered his ears once more, and couldn’t resist showing off another one of his humorous expressions.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
