Privacy Notice Prince Harry’s relationship with the Royal Family seems to be fraught with tension, including with his father King Charles, his brother Prince William, and it appears that his once warm bond with his sister-in-law Princess Kate may also be beyond repair. The Duke of Sussex, who previously referred to the Princess of Wales as “the sister I never had,” has seen their relationship sour, especially following the release of his explosive memoir Spare, where he spared no details about his private life. The family dynamic has become notably strained, and a particular “snide remark” made by Harry is said to have shattered Princess Kate’s trust, deepening the divide within the Royal household. A Royal commentator suggests that this sharp comment from Prince Harry could mean that Princess Kate might not be eager to patch things up anytime soon, reports the Express.

Discussing the fallout between Prince Harry and Princess Kate, Royal expert Katie Nicholl remarked on their previously “very very close” relationship, which deteriorated after Harry and Meghan Markle resigned from their senior Royal roles. She commented: “When you think of the personal revelations, and I think you can call them snide remarks made about Kate in Spare, Harry broke the one rule and that is staying silent on family matters.” In conversation with The Sun, Katie noted: “While Kate and Harry used to be very, very close, there’s been a complete breakdown of that relationship. I don’t think Kate does angry. I think it is more a case of feeling very disappointed, very let down and feeling hurt knowing that she had no right of reply – and Harry knew full well she had no right of reply.” In contrast to his wife, Katie revealed that Prince William was “very angry” with his brother for involving Kate in the situation, believing that she was “blameless throughout.” Katie Nicholl further commented: “[Kate] acted very much as the peacekeeper, she tried to get the brothers back on an even keel and for Kate to be dragged into this mucky saga was upsetting for her and certainly did infuriate William.” While discussing Meghan Markle, the expert also noted: “I think it’s too far down the line for Kate and Meghan. There were some deeply personal revelations about Kate in the book.” Sign up to OK!’s royal newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free

It is believed a ‘snide remark’ in Spare upset the Princess of Wales

Those revelations in Spare included Harry divulging the details of an argument with Kate that he says left his wife Meghan Markle “sobbing on the floor.” The row reportedly erupted when Princess Charlotte, Kate’s then three year old daughter, was left in tears when the bridesmaid dress she was due to wear at Prince Harry’s wedding didn’t fit properly. Immediately texting Meghan in a panic, Harry claims Kate said: “Charlotte’s dress is too big, too long, too baggy. She cried when she tried it on at home.” The book then goes on to claim that Meghan had hit back at Kate and told her that tailors were waiting at Kensington Palace to conduct any alterations, before suggesting that she take Charlotte to have the gown altered “as the other mums are doing.” However, according to Harry’s claims, Kate didn’t agree, and instead argued for the dress to be remade completely, something which upset Meghan ahead of her big day.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
