Just hours before the grand spectacle of the Love Island finale, two popular stars were dramatically cut from the show. The series, which drew back familiar faces like bombshells Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Casey O’Gorman for their second and third stints at romance, is coming to a thrilling close. Monday night’s impending 2025 finale of the Love Island offshoot had fans on tenterhooks after a shock elimination was broadcast just a day before the big reveal of the season’s champs. Viewers, after voting for their favourites, left some pairs at risk of being dropped – amplified by the twist that former Islanders could ditch one of the least-voted trios. Contestants Elma Pazar and Sammy Root, Harriett Blackmore and Ronnie Vint, alongside Catherine Agbaje and Omar Nyame, were all in the firing line.

A disgruntled Ronnie, cozied up with Harriett, bristled at the potential shade incoming, vowing: “If they come tomorrow and throw shade at us, I’m going in because we don’t deserve votes.” Meanwhile, Luca Bish offered solace to Catherine Agbaje and Omar Nyame, encouraging: “There’s no reason for you two to ever be there,” reports the Mirror. Catherine shared her anxieties: “What’s hard is that they’re two strong couples… hopefully the dumped Islanders can see what Omar and I have.” And through it all, Sammy Root kept cool, expressing: “I got what I came here for anyway.” The following day saw a Love Island reunion with former stars India Reynolds, Olivia Hawkins, Marcel Somerville, Kaz Crossley, Montel McKenzie, Nas Majeed, Ron Hall, Danielle Sellers, Samie Elishi, Tina Stinnes, and Chuggs Wallis all returning to drop their verdicts on heart-shaped boards. Olivia hinted at drama, saying: “I feel like there’s one particular couple I probably would have swapped from things I’ve seen on the outside…” before casting her vote for Harriett and Ronnie, adding: “I do think that if things don’t work out first time, going back to it is always a risk.”

Harriett clapped back with: “The girl literally photoshopped her head onto mine and sent it to Ronnie and he still didn’t want you on the outside or in the Villa…” to which Olivia retorted, “I didn’t want to go on a date with Ronnie.” The tense vote-off concluded with Harriett and Ronnie being the latest couple to leave. They were visibly moved as they packed and bid farewell to the other Islanders. Post-exit, chatting with Maya Jama, they reflected on being voted out by their peers. Harriett expressed understanding towards Liv’s vote due to past dynamics with Ronnie but felt blindsided by votes from friends like Sammy and Tina. Meanwhile, Ronnie looked ahead, eager to rekindle their romance outside the villa, having previously dated post-Love Island. He shared: “People might say don’t go back and all that, but that feeling, I just couldn’t let go. With H, I am this person now that I’ve always wanted to be… A changed man. I’ve said I feel like I won.”
