Tuesday’s episode of EastEnders was a rollercoaster of emotions as the fallout from Martin Fowler’s heartbreaking demise continued to unfold. Meanwhile, Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) made the decision to bid farewell to Albert Square. However, fans are convinced this isn’t the last we’ll see of Cindy, who seems set on exacting revenge on Kathy and Ian Beale. It’s been a whirlwind for Cindy; after two months of sleuthing, she discovered her Christmas Day assailant was none other than her mother-in-law, Kathy Beale. This revelation led to a series of unfortunate events, including Cindy ‘accidentally’ shooting Ian in the arm during a heated argument and pushing him into the path of Reiss Colwell’s speeding car.

The ensuing chaos saw Reiss swerve into gas canisters at the Queen Vic, triggering a catastrophic explosion. Cindy herself ended up hospitalised, saved from being crushed by Kathy. Initially, Cindy was hesitant to keep Kathy’s secret in return for hush money from Ian, but the fear of the truth behind Reiss’ crash becoming public knowledge proved too much. In Tuesday’s episode, she demanded Ian to return her “wanted her stolen money back”, reports the Mirror. Ian agreed to refund Cindy, but with one stipulation – she must vanish. Later in the episode, Cindy gathered the Knight and Beale clans and confessed that she didn’t feel safe living in the Square with someone who had tried to kill her. She announced her plans to stay with Gita, hinting at a possible return when she feels mentally stronger. However, Kathy and Ian shouldn’t breathe a sigh of relief yet, as Cindy dropped a hint before stepping into the tube station. “I don’t understand why you’re letting Ian get away with this,” Junior said, prompting Cindy to reveal: “Oh, no one’s getting away with anything, but I’m just happy to let them think that they have. For now.” Fans are unconvinced that this is Cindy’s final curtain call, predicting that she’ll return with a vengeance against Ian and Kathy. On social media, one viewer speculated: “It’s definitely not the last we’ll see of Cindy. Gillian Taylforth teased last week that the story is far from over. I think she’ll be back in a few months with eyes on revenge. #EastEnders”.

The question on everyone’s mind is how Cindy will exact her revenge. Given her history of hiring a hitman for Ian back in the 90s, it’s clear that she’ll stop at nothing. However, fans believe she’ll take a different approach this time around, one that won’t bode well for Kathy. One fan suggested: “I’d like for Cindy not to be redeemed, but her villainous side to be put to rest for a little bit. Use the money from the Beales to get her own business and then take over the Albert from Kathy, leading to more feuding scenes between them.” Others echoed this sentiment, with one saying: “I think they should give her a new route, let her start a business and work on herself,” and another confirming: “I can confirm I think she’ll be back for revenge. Although it will be some respite that she’s taking a break.” Michelle Collins made her EastEnders debut back in 1988, and was believed to have tragically passed away during childbirth while incarcerated a decade later. However, in a shocking twist in 2023, Cindy resurfaced on the soap, unveiling that she had been living under witness protection as Rose Knight, the ‘missing’ spouse of George Knight. The plot thickened as it was disclosed that she was also the mother of two daughters, Anna and Gina.
