Stacey, along with hubby Joe Swash and their team of declutterers, returned on Tuesday night (February 25) to help the Aphabhai-Heer family from Coventry tackle their enormous collection of clothes. However, while bonding with mum Sheeney, Stacey discovered the heartbreaking reason behind her hoarding habit. Sheeney revealed that after becoming pregnant at 17, her first partner abandoned her. Discussing her past relationship before meeting current partner Sohan, Sheeney confessed: “The relationship wasn’t very nice and I’d be completely honest, he would say I looked like a man. So to make myself feel better and more feminine, I’d go out and buy things.”

Stacey was visibly moved by Sheeney’s story, exclaiming: “Sheeney! Oh my God stop it, I’m gonna have to climb over your 100 pairs of jeans to give you a hug.” Despite the emotional moment, there was still plenty of work to be done as Stacey and her team set about decluttering the family’s home, tackling Sheeney’s love for clothes and kitchen appliances, reports the Mirror.

However, not all the viewers were convinced that the Aphabhai-Heer family genuinely needed help from the decluttering squad and thought they might have been able to tackle the clutter on their own. People flocked to X to voice their unease about the episode. One fan lamented: “I’m sorry but I’m not liking this episode. Normally it features a family who are suffering due to physical or mental health issues.”

Another posted: “Normally there’s a route course for the families on #sortyourlifeout This lot just seem like materialistic hoarders. Go back in a year and it’s gonna be just as bad.” Yet some defended Sheeney and her family’s cluttered home, with one sympathetic person noting: “Most people criticising Sheeny have no idea of the psychological aspect of hoarding. Her ex-partner told this beautiful woman she looked like a man, and destroyed her self-confidence. So she bought things to enhance her femininity.
