Farewells are exchanged in tender moments between Yasmeen and Alya, but the mood quickly shifts when Alya discovers a switched up menu at work. Incensed, she confronts the newcomer and tears the menu apart, but it remains to be seen how the new partner will take this bold move. Yasmeen’s departure from the ITV soap comes amid a string of exits, with Shelley keen to explore new projects. A source told The Sun: “This will be another blow for fans of the show, as Yasmeen is a much-loved character who’s part of the fabric of Corrie. “She’s had some huge storylines since she joined the soap in 2014, and she’ll be sorely missed by cast and crew. It’s understood she is leaving so she can explore other projects.” Despite these changes, insiders reassure the audience that the future of the beloved soap is secure and shining bright.

A Corrie insider spilled the beans on the future of the show, revealing: “Fans can ignore any idea that within a decade the soap will be gone, because it’s in no way on the brink of collapse. There’s some really exciting twists ahead for our favourite characters and couples, with a massive stunt that will no doubt bring the drama, as well as some hard-hitting storylines bringing some of soap’s biggest characters to the forefront.” They added that while some stars are leaving, “others will be back” and “the idea the end of Corrie is in sight is bonkers.” Meanwhile, Coronation Street is one of the soaps facing a scheduling shake-up, moving to a 30-minute episode every weekday, away from the current three one-hour slots on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
