Surrounded by loved ones, the couple could be seen dancing with one another as their friends and family watched on in delight. “I’m going to dip you, ready?” Ryan asked Jacqui as the pair took to the dancefloor for the first time as husband and wife. As Ryan dipped her backwards, Jacqui was leaned too far back and dramatically fell over. Ryan ended up dropping Jacqui instead of dipping her, with him then taking a tumble too.

Losing his footing, Ryan went to save his wife before he landed on top of her. One of the wedding guests then exclaimed that he had “ruined everything” before the screen went blank. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan mocked: “RyRy the Warrior dropped the ball (and chain!) Best moment of the series so far.” Another added: “Ryan, you’re that athletic and strong you dropped your wife.”

A third person said: “Ryan the “warrior” drops his wife doing a dip on the dance floor and wants the footage left out for HER dignity!!!!” While a fourth social media user typed: “yan dropping Jacqui, omg I’m crying. This guy is comedy gold – he is the actual antithesis of everything he says about himself!!” Ryan was then seen begging MAFS producers not to show the footage of him dropping Jacqui. He told the team that was concerned about the moment being aired and during the episode – which aired Down Under back in January.

The flustered groom asked the producer if the moment could be removed from the final edit. Ryan said: “Can we potentially discuss afterward, leaving that part out?” I’m not thinking of myself, I’m thinking of her.” The producer said: “We’ll talk about that later. Let’s get through the rest of the night first.” Married at First Sight Australia airs Monday to Thursday on E4 at 7.30pm
