Privacy NoticePrince Harry seems to be subtly reaching out to his father, King Charles, through his recent solo engagements. The Duke of Sussex, who turned 40 in September, has been busy with travels that took him to New York City, the UK, and Africa. Late last month he attended the WellChild awards in London, which was his eighth public outing in as many days without his wife Meghan Markle, where he was seen chatting to and smiling with guests. Speaking on behalf of Slingo, former royal butler Grand Harold has suggested that the Prince’s obvious focus on charitable causes could be a tribute to his late mum, Princess Diana, and also a subtle message to his father, the King. Other solo visits by the younger royal sibling included a New York trip for the Clinton Global Initiative and an appearance on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Former royal butler Grant said: “Diana was a massive advocate for so many charities, and Harry has been inspired by that. This trip has seen Harry speak about his mother and her legacy and it’s definitely a tribute to her. But he’s also spoken passionately about climate change, which is a cause close to his father’s heart. “I have no doubt he was honouring his father too. He loves and respects Charles and has a great deal of admiration for him. I think he’s wanted to go out there and give a nod of support to his dad and maybe he’ll hope that Charles will see this and get behind him.”, reports the Express. In January 2022, King Charles (then the Prince of Wales) wrote an essay for American title Newsweek in which he spoke of his “pride” at Harry’s efforts to highlight climate change. Despite the publication coming out after Harry and Meghan’s bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview, the King refused to exclude Prince Harry from his personal essay. “As a father, I am proud that my sons have recognised this threat,” he wrote. “Most recently, my elder son, William, launched the prestigious Earthshot Prize to incentivise change and help repair our planet over the next ten years.” He added: “My younger son, Harry, has passionately highlighted the impact of climate change, especially in relation to Africa, and committed his charity to being net zero.” Elsewhere, Meghan, 43, has also been seen out alone, wowing onlookers by taking to the red carpet at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Gala in a striking red Caroline Herrera gown she last wore three years ago.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
