Privacy NoticeDespite being hands-on parents who prioritise the well-being of their three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, Prince William and Kate Middleton still face some very relatable parenting struggles. Both sporty, William and Kate have encouraged their three children to engage in a variety of active, healthy hobbies – including tennis, rugby, football, and other sports. However, one of their eldest child – Prince George’s – biggest interests has presented them with a bit of a parenting challenge, something that parents across the country will be all too familiar with. This has led the couple to implement some rules on George’s solo hobby, to ensure that they are carefully monitoring how their son is spending his time.

Prince George’s hobby was revealed by Prince William himself, back in 2022. William was visiting BAFTA’s headquarters – an organisation he has been president of for 14 years – when he admitted that he and Kate were having to carefully monitor one of his eldest son’s biggest interests: video games. “At the moment it’s trying to regulate the gaming… monitoring screen time. Got to be careful of that,” William explained during the official Royal engagement. “They’re fascinated by it. George particularly. He’s more interested in it. The other two are a bit too small at the moment but they love the films. I adore film and gaming as well.” Kate and William reportedly implemented a no-iPad rule for their little ones, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, from a young age, encouraging them to play outdoors and use their imagination instead.

As two people who grew up without gadgets for entertainment themselves, William and Kate are firm believers in toys, outdoor play, and encouraging an active imagination,” reports the Mirror. Prince William recently opened up about Prince George’s adventurous new hobby during a visit to Birley Community Pool. The future king confessed that they took ten year old George scuba diving and he absolutely loved it.

“Catherine and I both adore swimming. George loves scuba diving. He’s 10 years old. We took him under thinking he would freak out. He absolutely loves it. It’s just introducing him to the world of water,” he explained. Highlighting the importance of swimming facilities, he said: “We want to replicate this across the country because swimming is such an important part of life. We’re an island nation, we should all have access to learn how to swim.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
