Privacy NoticeOn Wednesday, Strictly Come Dancing’s Sarah Hadland appeared on the This Morning sofa alongside her dance partner Vito Coppola. During the conversation with hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, they pair discussed the recent controversy with Wynne Evans and Katya Jones. Ben didn’t hesitate to address the drama surrounding stars Wynne Evans and Katya Jones that took social media by storm. The ITV host commented: “It’s been a difficult week in many ways, you’re on the inside of it for Wynne and Katya. We saw what happened on the weekend and we’ve seen it since they’ve come out and made it very clear that they’re great mates and it was a joke.”

“But it is when you understand how forensically people are pouring over the show and they’re looking for the slightest bit of information or nuance to what’s been going on.” When quizzed by the presenters about dealing with intense scrutiny, Sarah simply said: “You just have to be who you are,” reports the Express. She elaborated: “I think really, you’ve got to, especially with a show like Strictly when there is, as you say, so much attention. You’ve just had to go into it completely being yourself and keep doing that. “You wouldn’t, well I wouldn’t be able to maintain something that isn’t yourself. So, I think you just have to be who you are, react how you react to stuff and that’s all you can do. I hope that people connect with that and appreciate that.” Ben questioned the nature of the furore surrounding Wynne and Katya, aware that the spotlight on the stars is unprecedented. Commenting on the situation, he said: “They were just having a bit of fun, but actually that can get misconstrued and then that suddenly becomes a story.” In an interjection, Vito reminded the This Morning host how being genuine is key when appearing on the dance competition. The Strictly favourite quickly switched gears, mentioning how much he and Sarah relish their practice sessions.

The commotion concerning Wynne and Katya ignited post their noticeable interaction during Saturday night’s programme. Eagle-eyed fans caught a glimpse of Wynne’s hand briefly resting on Katya’s waist before she promptly moved it away. Sparking further debate online, another instance saw Katya spurn Wynne’s attempt at a high-five, turning her back to him with an unmistakable eye roll. During an It Takes Two segment, Katya stood up for her dancing partner. With fierce protection, she stated: “I will get onto dancing I promise but can I please first get something out of the way that I feel like overshadowed our performance for absolutely no reason and quite frankly, actually, I can’t bare sitting here watching this man [Wynne] being portrayed as someone he’s not.” The celeb passionately refuted the claims, setting the record straight with a determined declaration: “In fact, it couldn’t be further away from the truth so I have to make this absolutely clear that this whole incident with the hand and the high five on Saturday night it was an inside joke between Wynne and I. Was it a silly joke? Yes! Was it a bad joke? Yes! “. Following the controversy, both parties have apologised, yet Wynne is now tipped as one of the likely candidates to be voted off in the upcoming week.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
