Announcing the news on Instagram on Sunday, 29 September, the pair shared a series of snaps from the moment Darren got down on one knee and also shared a video from the romantic occasion. Captioning the sweet clip, Alexandra wrote: “Here’s to us forever! I can’t believe I get to marry my best friend Bring on the Burke-Randolph wedding I can’t wait to call you my husband.” The singer, 36, was first rumoured to be dating the footballer back in May 2021, after reports suggested the pair had enjoyed a string of romantic dates. In June, they took to Instagram to confirm their romance with a loved-up snap of the pair enjoying a date night together.

The singer and Darren are doting parents to two children and they have kept their little ones’ names and genders private. The star won The X Factor back in 2008, and went on to achieve three UK number one singles. She has go on to find success in musical theatre, as well as taking part in Strictly Come Dancing in 2017, and is currently appearing on SAS: Who Dares Wins. Who is Darren Randolph? Darren Randolph is an Irish professional footballer. He is 37 years old, and is originally from Bray, in Ireland. He has played for clubs including Premier League club West Ham United, as well as the Republic of Ireland national team. He has played for various other teams, including Motherwell and Birmingham City, before signing for West Ham in 2015. Darren has also represented Ireland at basketball. He owns the Darren Randolph Academy, a goalkeeping and football academy dedicated to helping youngsters in Ireland achieve their football dreams.

The Irish sportsman confirmed his relationship with singer Alexandra Burke in June 2021, after rumours began to circulate in May. Darren shared a cosy selfie of the pair travelling to dinner together on Instagram, ultimately confirming they were an item. Since going public with their romance, Alexandra and Darren have each shared numerous loved-up snaps on their Instagram pages. Marking Alexandra’s 33rd birthday a few years ago, the couple shared a series of snaps showcasing their romantic celebrations at the Whitehall Penthouse in London.
