Attempting to create some tasty treats for judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood are Leigh Francis (aka Keith Lemon), EastEnders ’ Danny Dyer, comedian Rhod Gilbert and radio and television presenter Yinka Bokinni. Ahead of the show, Leigh revealed that there’s one celebrity who causes chaos in the tent with “the bleep machine going” going into “overdrive”. The celebs will endure three challenges, a signature bake, a technical challenge, and a show-stopper – in the hope of winning star baker.

During an interview with Virgin Radio, Leigh confessed he found Bake Off experience “so stressful”. He also added: “My back was hurting. I remember on the first day, we filmed for two days, and they said, ‘What have you learned so far?’ I said, ‘Not to listen to my agent!’ It’s so stressful. I can’t do it. I feel like I want to walk.” Leigh continued: “I think they’ve only asked me because I’m doing me, they wouldn’t have asked me in character because I guess people don’t trust me when I’m in character. I think maybe they feel a bit safer when it’s me.”

Leigh Francis, also known as Keith Lemon, hopes to impress the judges with his baking

Leigh will be competing against three other celebrities and hints EastEnders actor Danny, who played Mick Carter until 2022, caused a bit of trouble. He said: “Danny Dyer there. I know Danny did quite well. And you can imagine what that was like…the bleep machine will be going into overdrive.” And it wasn’t just the celebrities Leigh was impressed by, he also loved host Alison Hammond. Leigh said: “She’s so right for the job. She comes in smiling. I would sit and have lunch and gossip and I do a lot of drawing and art on YouTube. She’d go, ‘I’d love to be able to draw!’ So I went ‘You draw me and I’ll draw you’. So we were just sitting in a trailer drawing each other whilst having our lunch…like the Titanic.”

Danny Dyer,’s swearing meant the ‘bleep machine’ got used multiple times

There are three more episodes still to air with the following celebs set to take part; David O’Doherty, Oti Mabuse, Gabby Logan, and Suzi Ruffell. Dermot O’Leary, Greg James, Fern Brady and Mel B.
