Privacy NoticeK-pop boy band Blitzers appeared on Britain’s Got Talent on Saturday night – but it was quickly pointed out that the group are already successful. A band member said: “We are the first K-pop band to be on Britain’s Got Talent and from here we have a dream to go to Wembley Stadium. We have a lot of fans in South Korea so we would love to be famous in the UK.” They went on to explain that they are already famous in South Korea having released five singles and winning awards after they formed in 2021. Blitzers have also won the Focus Award at the Asia Artist Awards and in 2022 they got the Rising Star gong at the K-Global Heart Dream Awards.

In their audition, the band performed a rendition of Shawn Mendes’ There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back which had the audience and all four judges on their feet. While Blitzers sailed through to the next round, some viewers took to social media to complain about their audition. One wrote: “Why is a K-Pop professional boy band from South Korea allowed to compete? #BGT #BritainsGotTalent.” Another posted: “Big in Korea and want to bring it to the UK….mmmmm…..Stinks of Simon bringing them over as his Kpop One Direction.” It’s not the first time viewers have complained about contestants having successful backgrounds. Golden Buzzer act Sydnie Christmas came under fire when her performing history was uncovered.
Viewers were annoyed to discover Blitzers are already a professional boy band
After her success on the show Sydnie said: “I was pinching myself. I thought this couldn’t be real… this doesn’t happen to people like me. I have wanted to do this forever. To be on stage, entertain, perform and sing… singing is my thing. I have been trying to make that happen my entire career.” However, ITV viewers challenged her claims after scouring through her online profiles and uncovering that the Sydnie talent has a substantial background in the showbiz industry. One viewer expressed their disappointment, saying: “It’s a load of cr*p, ive just looked her up, been acting since 9, graduating from Performing School Art school, been in Starlight Express.” “Sydnie Christmas is a professional singer/actress already working in the West End. Thought #bgt was for amateurs not professional. She’s taken golden buzzer off someone more deserving.”
The judges were impressed by Blitzers who sailed through to the next round
