Privacy Notice Stacey Solomon has a vision for the dress she plans to wear when she marries Josh Swash this year, the star has exclusively told new. The Loose Women panelist, who got engaged to her actor and presenter fiance, 39, on Christmas Eve, is set to walk down the aisle this summer. Speaking to new, Stacey revealed that when it comes to the all-important wedding dress, she knows exactly what she wants. The 31-year-old said over the phone: “I want a really light floaty material as my skirt. I want it high waisted and with a capped sleeve, too.”

The former X Factor singer still has a lot of wedding planning to do, though. Stacey and Joe have ditched their original venue and now plan to marry in the garden of Pickle Cottage, the new Essex home they share with son Rex, one, and Stacey’s boys Zachary, 13, and Leighton, eight. As we catch up with the former X Factor star to talk about her new fashion range, she admits moving house has had a knock on effect on her wedding plans… Hi Stacey, you’ve had a busy year, with work, moving and planning a wedding… How do you juggle it all? I don’t do it all. At the moment, my wedding planning has not gone any further on from last year. We didn’t foresee moving house. These kind of houses never come on the market and we just couldn’t believe the price of it, so we said this opportunity might never come along again so let’s do it. But it has meant we are behind on everything else.

And you are planning to get married in the garden? Yes. But at this rate it will just be me, Joe, my family and the rabbi in the garden – no food, no disco, nothing. I’ve not sorted out my wedding and I’ve not sorted out this house. I’m trying my best and trying to make sure I’m fulfilling work commitments, too. But you also have three boys to look after… Luckily, I have my family around me, so my dad helps me with childcare. Me and my sister share the school runs, because my middle one goes to school with her children. I couldn’t do it on my own. I’d be a liar if I said nobody ever helps me…

You’ve created a gorgeous collection with In The Style. Which is your favourite piece? I love the lemon dress. I love the eucalyptus dress, as well, because that leaf makes me really happy. Were you involved in the design process from the start? Yes. It took over a year. It’s like every girl’s dream to sit there and make mood boards and find inspiration. Everything I’ve said that I really wanted, they’ve tried to make happen. Like making sure that there was every size available and making sure everything came in tall and petite. Plus, we worked with an app called Regain, so when we send out the pieces people have bought, they’ll have the chance to send back any items they’re not wearing any more to be recycled.

Did the design process give you any ideas about wedding dresses? I’ve got ideas. But when I was speaking to the lady at a wedding dress shop, she said you’ll end up going for something you’re not even thinking about, so you need to try every shape and style before you commit. Have you ever experienced any fashion disasters? I look back at some pictures and think, “What was I wearing?” But I always think to myself, “No matter how you look back on something, you must have liked it at the time or you wouldn’t have put it on.” So I don’t think there’s such a thing as a fashion disaster. You wear clothes because of how they make you feel – and at that time you loved them.

Do you prefer being dressed up or down? It totally depends. There are some days I couldn’t think of anything worse than getting glammed up and dressed up in heels. Then there are other days where you wake up and think you want to wear nice clothes and feel dressed up! Does Joe like you to get glammed up? Joe wouldn’t notice if I walked in and I had big boob holes in my top! He’d be like, “You look nice.” He says he doesn’t look at me and see my clothes, he just sees me. And I think the same about him. Unless he was naked, I don’t even think I’d look at what he was wearing. Maybe it’s because we’ve been together a while.
