Privacy NoticeMarried At First Sight star Jess Potter, who appeared on the dating series in 2022, has revealed that she has been admitted to hospital following worsening symptoms involving her eyes. The dental hygienist posted from Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon on Thursday 24 October, sharing a photo in which she is standing in a hospital gown ready for her surgery. Jess captioned the photo by writing: “Gowned up ready to go. So, I haven’t told anyone but I am having an operation today on my eye. It’s an issue I’ve had for a few years but last 6 months has got progressively worse. Every time I am tired, I get double vision. It’s now at the stage where I’m losing spots in my vision and it’s affecting me every night after a day’s work – where my muscles in my eye stop working.”

She continued, “When I see the Dr 10 weeks ago he said I have deteriorated too much since my last visit so he wanted to operate asap. So 10 weeks later, here I am!” and added that she was very nervous about the surgery. “Not gonna lie, I’m sh*****g myself that I’m gonna wake up with one eye like a pirate so let’s pray surgery goes well. It’s about a 3 month recovery which is long and I guess my eye will fit in with Halloween, anyway wish me luck.” Jess appeared on MAFS two years ago, where she was married to stripper PJay Finch, but the relationship did not last. Since leaving the series, Jess has got engaged to her boyfriend TJ O’Reilly following a romantic proposal in Barcelona in September of last year, in the shadow of the iconic Sagrada Familia. Following her post about her eye surgery, fans were quick to send their best wishes. One wrote: “We’ve been to the eye clinic there, you’re in good hands and I hope it goes well,” while a second said: “Good luck Jess, fingers crossed for a positive outcome and speedy recovery,” and another added: “Good luck sweetpea. Sending you all the positive thoughts in the universe and praying it goes well for you.” Jess has previously shared her heartbreaking fertility journey with her followers, explaining the IVF treatments she has been through with partner TJ on four occasions, and also talking about her subsequent miscarriages and determination to discover the reasons behind her “unexplained fertility.” “Everyone having happy milestones and mine are all sad ones,” she wrote in May. “I’m really trying to keep my head up and manifest this happening for me, but it’s just a rollercoaster of emotions every day! Takes so much strength to go through this and I’m so grateful for everyone I’ve met along the way. We’re all in this together.”Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK! MagazineFacebookTwitterCommentMore OnMarried At First Sight
