Privacy NoticeBritain’s Got Talent act, and winner of the very first semi-final, Innocent Masuku revealed to the judges that he got married in-between his audition and live semi-final performance. The powerhouse opera singer took to the stage on Monday 27 May and gave an incredible performance where he received a standing ovation from all four judges as well as a huge amount of praise. When Innocent finished singing, Ant and Dec went to the judges for comments when Alesha Dixon said: “How do I sum it up? You’re the one to beat.” Amanda Holden added: “What’s amazing is how slight you are and I never see you take a breath then you do those notes that last forever. I think Alesha’s right, you’re the one to beat tonight.”

Simon said: “We felt how much this means to you”, and he went on to say: “You deserve this opportunity because you are incredibly talented.” Viewers were equally impressed by Innocent and took to social media to express how they felt. One wrote: “He is amazing!” Another added: “This opera singer WOW #BritainsGotTalent.” But the biggest news came from Innocent later on when Dec said: “Since we saw you last, you’re married now.” Innocent replied “yes I am” as the camera panned to his new wife who jumped up and down, thrilled to have been watching him from the audience.

Innocent went straight through to the BGT final

Innocent was put straight through first on Monday night after receiving the most public votes. The judges were then forced to choose between Ssaulabi Performance Troupe and The Trickstars. Bruno Tonioli straight away picked Ssaulabi whilst Alesha had to take more time to make her decision but also came to the same decision, as did Amanda. Simon said he would have also picked Ssaulabi. The group said about getting through to the final show on Sunday 2 June: “We represent Taekwondo in Korea, we will show everything we have. Dec said to Innocent: “What a year you’re having, the audition we saw you back in January, your wedding and now here you are, the winner of tonight’s semi-final. What a special time.” Innocent replied: “This is my year, I’m so happy and I’m ready. I am ready for Sunday. I hope you are ready as well.”

Bruno Tonioli screamed as he was dragged on-stage for terrifying BGT stunt

The first semi-final also saw poor Bruno being spun around by Ukranian roller skating act Duo Stardust who had to drag him up on stage to participate. Bruno was spun around in mid-air by the couple, but when asked if he enjoyed the act, he said: “It worked for me! It’s a bit scary – and I thought that anyway. Every time you were spinning around, I thought she was going to crash. I found it very scary and very dramatic.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
