Privacy Notice Italian shadow artist Matteo Fraziano was forced to stop his act during the semi-final of Britain’s Got Talent after a mishap during the live show plunged his performance into chaos. The young impressionist Matteo took to the stage when it became clear something was amiss as he appeared to drop something before a crew member ran over. Just seconds went by before Matteo began his act which luckily continued without a hitch. During the judges comments, Simon Cowell acknowledged the mishap and said: “I thought it was silly, childish and brilliant at the same time. For you to recover after – honestly I thought the whole thing just wasn’t going to happen at the beginning and you really picked yourself up quickly after that, so good for you.” Ant then said to Matteo: “Well done you. After the torch moment at the beginning there, to get yourself back on track, that took nerves and true professonalism.”

Matteo didn’t seem fazed by the mishap as he told Ant and Dec: “I was so excited about all of this. For me, it’s such an adventure, a great experience.” Ant then teased: “So Matteo, it’s not just Bruno that speaks quickly, it’s all Italians!” The judges all loved Matteo’s audition where he entertained them by performing with shadow impressions of Elvis and Eminem to name a few. During the semi-final, he called Dec onto the stage. Dec looked a bit apprehensive as Matteo him down on the chair and played the song ‘That’s Amore’ as Matteo moved his hands like he was singing before his shadow went in for a kiss. He then transformed the shadow into a dog and the audience laughed as the shadow Dec and the shadow dog re-created the spaghetti scene from Lady and the Tramp.

While Simon was impressed by Matteo’s act, Alesha Dixon confessed during the feedback that she wasn’t. Alesha added: “I loved your audition, but I have to be honest, it didn’t really set me on fire tonight. It just left me feeling a little bit flat. “I loved that you involved the boys. But I don’t know, I just wans’t feeling it tonight, I’m sorry.” Alesha was met with incredibly loud ‘boos’ from the audience. Matteo did have a tough act to follow as he took to the stage after Alesha’s Golden Buzzer act Ravi’s Dream Team, and a favourite of hers Ace Clvrk.
