Privacy NoticeDanny Dyer and his daughter Dani are reportedly facing disappointment as their Channel 4 show is rumoured to be cancelled after just one series. Despite their enthusiasm for creating more episodes, the final call was reportedly not in their hands. Last year, the pair participated in E4’s Absolutely Dyer: Danny and Dani Do Italy. While the show was well-received by viewers, it appears that the four-part series didn’t do enough to persuade producers to bring it back. A source revealed to The Sun that Danny and Dani cherished the “bonding time” during the Italian series and had shown interest in filming a series in a different location.

They said: “They discussed doing more, even exploring regions in the UK, which would have been cheaper to make. But Channel 4 have decided once is enough and they won’t be back for more.” However, this setback doesn’t seem to signal the end of the road for Danny and Dani’s on-screen partnership. The insider added: “Danny and Dani are still really well thought of as a telly duo, as shown on Celebrity Gogglebox, so they might return in a different guise on the channel”, reports the Mirror. The news comes after Danny caused quite the stir at the National Television Awards recently when he “let slip” a potential spoiler, shouting ‘bring Mick back’ and sparking rumours of his return to EastEnders after a two-year absence. His cheeky shout-out whipped fans into a frenzy, leaving them wondering if it’s time for his iconic character, Mick Carter, to return.

Danny also shared some love with his ex-castmates in the star-studded audience, saying he missed them and fuelling speculation about a comeback to Albert Square with his words: “I love you, I miss you. Bring Mick back, do you think they should bring Mick back? ” Social media then lit up with viewer reactions, with many urging showrunner Chris Clenshaw to orchestrate Mick’s return. One eager fan wrote: “BRING MICK BACK YOU HEARD HIM CLENSHAW.” Another chimed in with a passionate: “BRING MICK BACK,” while another was convinced, commenting: “Danny Dyer saying ‘bring Mick back’ basically confirms Mick will come back during the 40th anniversary live episode 100%.” Danny’s character, the ill-fated landlord of The Queen Vic, vanished from the show amidst spectacle and drama on Christmas Day 2022, after plunging into the ocean in a bid to rescue ‘drowning’ Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and an expectant Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks).Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
