Privacy NoticeThe Britain’s Got Talent live final has been an emotional rollercoaster for one of the contestants, who was spotted shedding tears on the London underground mere hours before the big event. Sydnie Christmas, 28, isn’t overwhelmed by the pressure of performing live, but rather she’s been brought to tears by sheer happiness after receiving a social media follow from one of her musical heroes. Her powerful performance of Tomorrow from Annie wowed both the audience and judge Amanda Holden, who was so taken with Sydnie’s audition that she pressed the Golden Buzzer, catapulting her directly into the semi-finals. During the live rounds, Sydnie continued to shine with her rendition of Frank Sinatra’s classic My Way, catching the attention of American singer-songwriter Loren Allred. Overwhelmed with excitement, Sydnie shared on her Instagram Story that Loren, whom she adores, had followed her, leaving her emotional and teary-eyed. To her 59,000 followers, she posted: “My Idol. Life made.”

She continued with disbelief: “No. No stop it! ! ! I’m crying on the tube. I love you Loren.” Along with opera singer Innocent Masuku and Northamptonshire’s Sings Out choir, Sydnie will be competing in the Britain’s Got Talent final, reports the Mirror. The line-up also includes impressionist Mike Woodhams, magicians Trixy and Jack Rhodes, comedian Alex Mitchell, and dance duo Abigail and Afronitaaa. The winner will earn a spot in the Royal Variety Performance. In the final, Sydnie will face off against two other Golden Buzzer acts: the Ssaulabi Performance Troupe and the jump rope act Haribow.

Amanda Holden, Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli are this year’s judges on Britain’s Got Talent, but ultimate power lies in the hands of viewers at home. Sydnie is tipped to win the show tonight, but she’s already revealed that she’ll return to her day job at the gym tomorrow, despite fame and fortune possibly just over the horizon. She said she can’t give up her day job yet because centre job just yet – because she needs the cash.

The 28 year old laughed: “I’ve already had two weeks off – and I’m on a zero-hours contract. I have rent to pay!”” Hoping for a brighter future, Sydnie expressed her desire to pursue her passion full-time: “In a year’s time, I hope I’m living my dream. I want to be doing what I love for a living instead of rolling towels and making shakes!’ Bookies see her as the most likely winner of Britain’s Got Talent, with the odds favouring her at 2/15.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
