Privacy Notice Jack Rhodes has finally broken his silence after fans expressed their disappointment over this year’s Britain’s Got Talent winner Sydnie Christmas allegedly ‘snubbing’ him post-victory. The magician, who wowed audiences with his incredible acts, made it to the final three in the BGT final but was pipped to the post by songstress Sydnie. Sydnie, 28, was visibly overwhelmed as she was crowned the winner of the talent show, securing a hefty £250k prize and the coveted slot at the Royal Variety Performance. However, some viewers felt that she didn’t give Jack, 27, the recognition he deserved, with one peeved fan posting on X, previously known as Twitter: “Sydnie not even acknowledging jack. Shameful.”

“Sydnie Christmas only got 27% of the vote and didn’t congratulate [the] runner-up at all, too busy congratulating herself.”, wrote another, reports the Mirror. A third added: “Thoroughly enjoyed the series as always, just a shame it appeared Sydnie had no time for the runner up,” suggesting a simple gesture of goodwill would have been appreciated. Comments also included sentiments like “Felt bad for Jack Just stood there as everyone was crowding around Sydnie” and “wanted Jack to win, but rate Sydnie Christmas for celebrating like she wanted it. None of that humble nonsense, just punching the air and jumping around.” Following Sydnie’s win, Jack was interviewed backstage by BGT staff. In a clip shared on the show’s official Instagram, he expressed his feelings but didn’t mention Sydnie. The magician said: “Oh my God. Overwhelmed, buzzing, everything in between. I was so, oh God, the sense of relief now I’ve done it. But runner-up, I wanna thank everyone that voted. This whole week’s been absolutely amazing. The whole process has been amazing. Thanks so much to everyone that voted. I’m gonna go lie down [and] probably never wake up.”

However, it wasn’t just Sydnie’s apparent treatment of Jack that left BGT fans fuming on Sunday. Many took to social media to claim her win was a ‘fix’. “Fixed as f*** that she’s had a singing career before,” one fan angrily commented on X, formerly known as Twitter, while another raged, “They’re not even trying to hide the fact that this show is rigged.” A third chimed in: “OMG it’s been soooo obvious since day one that Simon was obsessed with that Sydnie girl. she’s good but yawn at another singer winning (im guessing), justice for the border collies.” One fan speculated: “So an already established singer just won BGT 2024, what a fix. Jack was robbed but they knew what they were doing when choosing the running order, not a coincidence both Jack and Sydnie were the last 2 acts and in the top 2 and Simon’s whole no professionals in the top 2.” This year’s Britain’s Got Talent introduced Sydnie as the first act to receive a Golden Buzzer from judge Amanda Holden, securing her spot in the live semi-finals, after her emotional performance of Tomorrow from the musical Annie.
