Privacy NoticeDenise Nolan’s wedding to Tom Anderson was full of emotional moments and special tributes to those they cherish and those lost. This was in part because for Denise, who was once part of the hugely-successful group The Nolans, her sisters are just as important to her now as they’ve ever been. So after officially becoming Mrs Nolan Anderson on Monday, 17 June in a ceremony exclusively covered by OK!, she revealed she plans to take three of her famous sisters to Scarborough for her honeymoon. “It’s one of our favourite places in the world, and Linda, Maureen and Anne are coming with us!” she told us, adding that there was also a fourth friend joining the couple too.

Linda, who lives with Denise and Tom in Blackpool as she continues to deal with her with incurable cancer, was an especially important of their day, gifting Denise her precious wedding bouquet of yellow roses and freesias. “The family are all very generous but Linda is especially generous. Please God she’s not going to leave us any time, but I think she feels, with her incurable illness, that she wants to help out when she can.”

Although it wouldn’t have been a proper wedding without a little mishap, and the flowers almost didn’t make an appearance at the ceremony – until Denise and Linda’s brother Brian stepped in to save the day! “When we arrived at Festival House I realised we’d forgotten the flowers that Linda had paid a fortune for, and I thought she’d be so hurt if I didn’t walk down the aisle with them – so my poor brother had to rush back and get them!” While Denise’s sister enjoyed the day they’d waiting many years for – the couple have actually been together for around together for 47 and engaged for 30 years – there was one Nolan sister they all missed.

Bernie Nolan (seen here with Linda) died in 2013 aged 52

Bernie, the second youngest sister, died in 2013 aged just 52 after a battle with breast cancer. Her memory however, was honoured at Denise and Tom’s ceremony when they included a recording of a song performed at Bernie’s own wedding. “When our late sister Bernie was getting married, the whole family got up and sang Frank Sinatra’s You, My Love mixed with a song from West Side Story called One Heart . It was really lovely, with beautiful harmonies. I videoed it from the back of the room, and we played it on our big day.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
