Privacy NoticeIt’s that time of year again, when Wimbledon opens its doors to thousands of fans, enjoying the tennis, sun and Pimms. For those not fortunate enough to get tickets, live action from all 18 courts are available to stream on BBC, with the help of presenter, Isa Guha, 39, who has a famous husband. The sports broadcaster tied the knot with long-term boyfriend, and musician Richard Thomas of the band Brother and Bones in September 2018. Posting pictures of her wedding at the time on X, formerly known as Twitter, Isa penned: It’s been a challenging year but with this incredible human by my side I know I can get through anything. So lucky to have him in my life – these two pics pretty much sum up our amazing day, with so many of our best friends and family.”

Isa is no stranger to sports, as the former cricket player became the first woman of South Asian origin to represent England in any sport at age 17. In 2008, she was ranked world number one bowler in the ICC Women’s Day One international rankings. Four years later, with 113 caps, Isa bowed out of the sport in 2012, as England’s second highest wicket taker in the all-time England Women’s one-day international list. She was also the sixth highest in the world. The star didn’t take herself far away from the game however, turning her career into sports broadcasting. From cricket coverage on Sky Sports, Fox Cricket and BBC Isa has done it all, and now she’s back gracing tennis fans’ screens every morning with Wimbledon coverage.

Isa joined the line-up after Sue Barker’s departure. In 2022, the former professional tennis player announced she was retiring, and stepping down as BBC Wimbledon host. “Basically I just feel the time is right. It has been my dream job and I have loved every minute of it working so many great colleagues who I am going to miss so much,” she said. “When I started I never thought I would manage 30 years. I had actually made up my mind to leave in 2017 because the hours were becoming very long and quite challenging. That would have been 25 years and seemed a good time, but I am so glad I made the decision to stay on. “I’m very happy to be leaving with no regrets and on my own terms while I am still on top of the job, it just feels like the right time to go and leave it to others.”Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
