Privacy NoticeScottish DJ sensation Jackmaster, born Jack Revill, has tragically died at just 38 years old while in Ibiza on Saturday, October 12. As confirmed by his distraught family, the chilling circumstances surrounding his untimely death involved “complications arising from an accidental head injury.” In a heartrending statement, it read: “It is with profound sorrow that we confirm the untimely passing of Jack Revill, known to many as Jackmaster. Jack tragically died in Ibiza on the morning of October 12, following complications arising from an accidental head injury.” The grief-stricken message continued: “His family – Kate, Sean and Johnny – are utterly heartbroken. While deeply touched by the overwhelming support from friends, colleagues, and fans, the family kindly requests privacy as they navigate the immense grief of this devastating loss.” Glasgow-born Jack was famed for working at the legendary record shop Rubadub in his native city before co-founding the influential record label Numbers.

His recent track, Nitro, featuring Kid Enigma, dropped and he described it to Electronic Groove music magazine as inspired by the club culture: “It was about feeling hyped and inspired in the club. Sadly, those moments are rare now. Blame the phones and people who don’t dance, I think”, reports the Mirror. The music world is reeling from the loss of Jack Revill, known to many as Jackmaster. He expressed his gratitude for his fans and his passion for dance, saying: “I am so grateful for my fans, but I got into music because I love dancing. It’s a lost artform at the moment, I think.” Following the heartbreaking news, tributes have poured in from across the industry. Electronic duo Disclosure shared their sorrow on social media, stating: “Can’t believe this. Heart broken. Thank you for all the amazing memories and inspiration Jack. This is just awful awful awful.” CamelPhat also expressed their disbelief and respect on Revill’s Instagram page: “Can’t believe what I’m reading… in an industry full of Ego you were hands down one of the nicest fellas we ever met along the way. Our thoughts are with family and friends. RIP my friend x.” Friends and colleagues took to social media to share their grief. Jamie Bryan posted on Instagram: “Heartbreaking man, RIP,” with a devastated face emoji. Tony Allen from Undrtone Agency wrote: “Can’t believe it. RIP mate,” accompanied by a broken heart emoji. A heartfelt message from another read: “Jack was always making me laugh and smile. I’m honored to have known him. RIP.” A fan reminisced about Revill’s early days, saying: “Tragic news about young Jack Revill aka Jackmaster. Will always remember you as part of the The G (Glasgow) crew who frequented the Little Detroit forum with plenty of knowledge for the sounds of the motor city at such a young age. Safe journey among the stars Jack.”

DJ Annie Mac also shared her thoughts on Jack’s untimely passing. She wrote: ” Devastated to hear of the tragic death of Jack Revill aka @jackmaster. He was hands down one of the best DJs in the U.K; fearless and forward thinking, committed to the job at hand. ” She continued: “He was so charismatic, so fun, so sound, one of those guys who lit up a room. I always loved to see and speak to him. He was only thirty eight. I can’t believe he’s gone.
