The couple only stayed there for a few months before deciding it wasn’t for them. Although Princess Anne and her husband Sir Timonthy Laurence now reside at their main residence Gatcombe Park in Gloucestershire and at their London base at St James’s Palace, they did once live in a two-bedroom flat in Westminster, London. Princess Anne, who reportedly could gain Prince Harry’s military patronages, described it as having ‘noisy neighbours and ‘noisy traffic.’ The flat was in Drake House on Dolphin Square and the couple are said to have paid. £1300 rent per month to stay there. The main bedroom featured high ceilings and a neutral décor of cream carpets and walls. The wooden bed frame featured simple white bedding, with two dark bedside tables, with one of them featuring a pink fringed lamp.

Princess Anne’s brother Prince Charles and his wife Camilla spend much of their time at Highgrove, which is just a few miles away in Tetbury. The address of Princess Anne’s former flat in Dolphin Square has been home in the past to many notable figures. As it is only a 20-minute walk to the House of Commons, it has naturally been a popular choice for many MPs. The likes of William Hague and former Prime Minister Harold Wilson are just two notable names who have used the square as their London base.
