Privacy NoticePrince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, has an adorable tribute to his late grandmother, Princess Diana, in his nursery. In a short clip featured in the Sussexes new Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, personal mobile phone footage shows a very small Archie staring at a black and white portrait of the Princess of Wales. Baby Archie can’t take his eyes off the stunning photograph of his grandmother as Meghan, 41, cradles him and says: “That’s your Grandma Diana.” In the clip, Archie can be heard babbling as he leans forward to touch the photo and Meghan asks: “Who’s that?” Meghan then adds: “Hey grandma.” The photo hangs on a wall of the Frogmore Cottage nursery, which is plastered in an off-white wallpaper with a leafy branch print.

Although Meghan and Harry have since moved out of the royal residence, Princess Eugenie now lives there with her husband Jack Brooksbank and their son, August, who may now occupy Archie’s old bedroom. Prince Harry, 38, previously revealed in his Apple TV+ docuseries The Me You Can’t See, that one of Archie’s first word was “grandma”. “I got a photo of her in his nursery, and it was one of the first words that he said — apart from ‘mama,’ ‘papa,’ it was then ‘grandma’. Grandma Diana,” he shared.

“It’s the sweetest thing, but at the same time, it makes me really sad because she should be here.” Prince Harry has made no secret of the fact it’s extremely important to him to keep his mother’s memory alive following her death in 1997. The couple paid tribute to Harry’s mum when their daughter was born by naming her Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.

In their new Netflix documentary, Harry says that how Meghan is as a person reminds him of his beloved mum. He tells the camera: “So much of what Meghan is and how she is is so similar to my mum.
