The budget-friendly supermarket is known for its middle aisle section, where you can find dupes of high-end makeup, fragrances, and homeware, and the latest item to hit the famed middle aisle is a candle that gives Diptyque vibes without the hefty price tag. The Purewick Flowers & Fruit Candle, £3.49 here, comes in a range of fruity floral scents, including orange blossom, blackberry mint, and peony rose, for a fresh and zesty summer scent. The orange blossom scent is similar to the coveted – and costly – Diptyque Oranger Scented Candle, £56 here, with both candles weighing approximately 190g, meaning you’ll get the same amount of candle for more than £50 cheaper at Aldi.

The look of the candle is very reminiscent of the iconic Diptyque candles, complete with oveal shaped white label and black text on the front. However, the scents themselves are much more similar to another popular luxury candle brand. Jo Malone’s candles typically come with a much higher price tag of around £55, but the scents are very similar to Aldi’s offerings. Aldi’s Blackberry Mint version is a perfect dupe for the Jo Malone London Blackberry and Bay Home Candle, £55 here, whilst saving you more than £45 in the process. There’s also the Orange Blossom Home Candle, £55 here, which makes Aldi’s £3.45 version seem even more affordable. Finally, Aldi’s peony rose candle could easily be exchanged for the classic Jo Malone London Peony and Blush Suede Home Candle, £55 here, which offers notes of red apple, fresh peonies, and leather for a soothing aroma.

Although Aldi’s candles have the Diptyque look and the Jo Malone scents, fans of the luxury brands may not be as easily swayed as others, with Aldi candles not quite matching up to the intensity and powerful aromas of the higher end brands, however the ultra-affordable price tag and chic look of them makes them a great choice for scattering around your home for a boost of summery scent. For a longer lasting scent infusion, Aldi also offers the same zesty and floral combinations in a variety of reed diffusers as part of the Fruit & Flowers range. The Fruit & Flowers Reed Diffusers, £3.49 here, are perfect for allowing a continuous aroma to waft through your home, and the affordable price tag means you can have one in every room.
