Privacy NoticeCall The Midwife star Olly Rix has debuted a very dramatic transformation and has shown off the incredible results of a fitness transformation after getting into “the best shape possible”. Olly, who is known as playing Matthew Aylward on the hit BBC show, uploaded a clip to Instagram in which he went shirtless and displayed his toned abs and muscly arms, as well as two tattoos – one on his hip and another on his forearm. Captioning the video, the actor hinted at an upcoming role and wrote: “Thank you to the team at Andarta Performance in helping me realise the best shape possible for this next one.”

In response to the post, Olly’s followers showed their support for the BBC star’s amazing transformation, with one writing: “Crikey. You don’t get this at Nonnatus.” Another added: “This is an insane level of work. Thanks for motivating me. You look incredible. Can’t wait to see this role.” Some even expressed their disbelief and revealed that they didn’t initially recognise Olly in the post. “I thought it was Hugh Jackman – Wolverine! All the best with your next project. Hard work pays off,” wrote one. “I did not recognise you. This is some serious commitment to a role. Good for you,” another commented.

Having appeared in Call The Midwife for three series, Olly departed the show in March when his character Matthew packed up and left for New York leaving behind his on-screen wife Trixie. Prior to his exit, Olly spoke to OK! about his time on the show and said it was “great” to be a part of the team. “It’s great being part of the Call the Midwife family. For now,” he explained. “You’ve got to watch to the end of this series. There are a few surprises ahead, a few bumps in the road. We’ll see how much longer I’m part of the family!”

The picture comes after reports that Olly has allegedly grown apart from co-star Helen George after they had been rumoured to be sparking up a close bond off screen earlier this year. However, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Olly appeared to unfollowed his on-screen wife on Instagram and also appeared to remove a selfie with her from his Instagram account. “They were there for each other in the wake of their splits. But it seems they are no longer close and have made this clear by removing each other on social media. Olly even went one step further and deleted a picture of him and Helen from Instagram,” a source told The Sun.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
