Privacy NoticeIt looks as though This Morning star Matthew Wright has an exciting chapter ahead after sharing a major update. The 59 year old, who is a regular on the ITV daytime show discussing current affairs, admitted he thought he’d be “more emotional after 23 years” as he says “goodbye.” The TV presenter took to X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday, 9 July to share a snap of himself with a stack of boxes, bags and a suitcase in the background. He told his followers: “Packing all done, two days non stop but I’m ready to go! Thought I’d be more emotional after 23 years here but no which means it really is time to say goodbye and go the full Worzel after so many years dithering. A new dawn for me tomorrow x.”

While Matthew didn’t disclose what exactly the move was, it is thought that he could be moving house. Giving a further clue of his life update, Matthew replied to a comment on the post about the stress of packing: “Moved a lot as a child which might explain why I’ve been in one place so long. It’s truly horrible!! Hope all good x.” From one insightful fan it appears the TV presenter could be moving to Devon as they asked: “Is it WELCOME TO THE SOUTH WEST?!”, to which Matthew replied “Yes.” This was followed by others informing him that when tucking into a scone in Devon it was clotted cream first and jam on top. Another replied to this and wrote: “Devon but isn’t it? If so, nevermind, just remember, it’s jam first, always. Enjoy life in the South West” and Matthew replied: “Always.” One fan also added: “I’m in Devon, lovely countryside and beaches and moors here…enjoy..”

One follower commented on the post: “Good luck! I’m moving in a couple of weeks too” and Matthew replied: “Good luck – you will need more boxes!! Always more boxes!!”, with a laughing face emoji. Others offered their support as one wrote: “Best of wishes for the next step in life’s amazing journey!” A second penned: “Good luck.” Matthew has been married to his wife Amelia Gatte since 2010 after they met in 2007 at a garden party held by a mutual friend. Amelia is a music executive at a record company and in 2019 the couple welcomed their daughter, Cassady.

In 2018, Matthew stepped down from his hit Channel 5 show, The Wright Stuff which was replaced by Jeremy Vine. At the time he explained that having to get up at half three in the morning every day had finally taken its toll and said he wanted to see more of his wife, as they had been “like ships passing in the night” due to his working hours. He said in one of his final episodes: “I’ve had 18 and a half years of it, Mrs Wright, we pass like ships in the night and you’re looking around and thinking, at some point you’ve got to have a change.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
