The pair are two of the original actors from the show with Will playing Gaz Wilkinson and Ralf as Jonny Keogh. It’s been over 20 years since the show so now the duo will uncover how to better navigate life as middle-aged men in their forties. Ralf told The Sun: “This time we get to explore how we should be living in the modern world while educating ourselves, and having a laugh at the same time.” Will added: “I’ve wanted to do a series like this for years. Going on a journey with Ralf to open our minds and push our limits . . . what could possibly go wrong?

Each themed episode of the new show will see the pair face a series of encounters and challenges from facing fears of ageing to discovering the peril of living off the grid with no toilet paper. Will announced the news on his Instagram with the caption: “So chuffed I can finally announce my new series with @ralf.little Coming soon to @dave_tvchannel and @uktv !! Absolutely loved making it so hope you enjoy!” Ralf also teased the return of the show weeks ago with a snap of him and Will outside of the legendary pub. He wrote: “Look who’s back outside The Archer from Two Pints. It’s a Buddhist temple now. Times have changed! Will explain soon why we were here.” Other original cast include Sheridan Smith, Natalie Casey, Kathryn Drysdale Luke Gell – but none have been confirmed to return.

While the show has been off air, Will and Ralf have continued to star in major dramas. Ralf recently starred as DI Neville Parker for four series. He announced he would be leaving the show last year with his replacement being revealed later as EastEnders actor Don Gilet (who played Lucas Johnson). On social media, Ralf congratulated Don on taking over the lead role. “The new detective is the wonderful Don Gilet and I just want to say from me to you – Don, I hope you have the most wonderful time! It’s the most magical experience and I hope you just get everything out of it and I wish you the best of luck. I’m absolutely sure you’re going to be magnificent. Cheers mate.”

Will meanwhile, has had a recurring role on Coronation Street as sinister Harvey Gaskell who was put in prison for the murder of Natasha Blakeman.
