The 59 year old, who is a regular on the ITV daytime show discussing current affairs, shared a peek into his half-packed world just hours before his mad dash to A&E. Taking to X, previously known as Twitter, on Wednesday, 10 July Matthew revealed his scary ordeal. He said: “Turns out my bad neck is actually quite bad. Indebted to paramedics Steph and Miko for getting me to hospital and dealing with worst of pain. Doesn’t look like I’ll be moving house today.” In another update, he shared: “2 shots of morphine so far, one diazepam, 1000mg paracetemol and it’s not even 7am.” Before he jokingly added in another tweet: “Having an absolutely first class @nhs experience thus far.”

While Matthew didn’t disclose exactly where he was moving house, it is believed he could be moving to Devon as one asked: “Is it WELCOME TO THE SOUTH WEST?!”, to which Matthew replied “Yes.” This was followed by others informing him that when tucking into a scone in Devon it was clotted cream first and jam on top. Another replied to this and wrote: “Devon but isn’t it? If so, nevermind, just remember, it’s jam first, always. Enjoy life in the South West”.
