Rumours have long-swirled that Nancy Cartwright who voices Bart Simpson on the iconic show is connected to the pop star, and sleuthing fans who have since connected the dots as to the nature of their relationship have all been left stunned. And now Nancy has taken to TikTok to address exactly how she and Sabrina are linked. In a post captioned “the rumours are true”, the star confirmed that she was in fact the singer’s aunt.

“Is Sabrina Carpenter your niece? Yeah, absolutely. Isn’t that amazing?,” she said in the 17-second long clip posted to the platform on Tuesday (July 9). She continued: “Maybe you’ve known me for a little while doing this little 10-year-old boy for like 35-some years and some of you guys for like, way less than that… find out that I’m related to this superstar. Others were keen to see Nancy take on some of Sabrina’s songs in character as Bart. “Can we hear Bart sing Espresso?! PLEASE,” begged one TikToker underneath the video. Another commented that “Sabrina being related to Bart Simpson makes so much sense. It really is a family attitude.”

Nancy hasn’t been shy in championing her family member over the years, even congratulating her “star” as far back as 2016. In a Facebook post at that time she wrote: “My niece, Sabrina Carpenter, at the Roxy! She is all of 17 – going on 30! So smart-sexy!! Look for her! She is a star!”. Aside from Bart Simpson, Nancy has voiced a plethora of iconic characters over her decades-long career. Among them is the flame-haired millennial icon Chucky from the Rugrats. Meanwhile her niece Sabrina Carpenter has been dominating the world of music with hits like Please, Please, Please , Espresso and Feather swiftly rising in the charts.
