Privacy NoticeCelebrities and other VIPs have been celebrating the tennis championships at Wimbledon this week with a trip to Evian’s Mountain of Youth VIP Suite at the famous south London grass court venue. Stars including Helen Mirren, Ben Barnes, AJ Odudu, Stormzy, Sophie Habboo and Jamie Laing posed with tennis racquets and balls inside the exclusive venue, and enjoyed the facilities on offer including a seemingly endless supply of Evian water, a table tennis table for those wanting to pretend they can match the serving speed of Carlos Alacaraz, and mouth watering canapes to keep the VIP spectators’ stomachs from rumbling through the longer matches. There is even an umpire’s seat to pose in for VIP fans who want to show they have what it takes to be one of the line judges on court. It’s been a celebrity packed tournament this year, with stars including Maya Jama, Nicola Coughlan, Margot Robbie, Olly Murs, David Beckham, Zendaya and Tom Cruise all seen intensely watching matches on Centre Court.

While the VIP suite has been busy for the two weeks of the championships, it’s expected to be overflowing with celebrities on Sunday 14 July as famous tennis fans make their way to Wimbledon for the men’s singles final between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic. The pair played each other in last year’s final, with Carlos taking home the famous trophy, while Novak has won seven times before and is hoping to win the title for the eighth time this year. The winner will collect £2.7 million, while the runner up receives £1.4 million. Amongst the attendees watching what is sure to be a tense match is a very special guest, the Princess of Wales. Kensington Palace confirmed on Saturday that Kate will attend the men’s singles final in her role as Patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

The Princess, who is undergoing treatment for cancer, has kept a low profile since her diagnosis was revealed in March this year. She made a brief return to the public eye in June with her family for Trooping the Colour, but did not attend Prince William ’s charity polo match on Friday 12 July. In a statement released last month, Kate revealed she was making good progress with her cancer treatment but was “not out of the woods yet” and had “good days and bad days,” so the crowds will be especially excited to see her at Wimbledon and hopefully present the trophy to the winner of the prestigious Grand Slam match.
