Privacy NoticeCoronation Street fans were in for a treat this week, as it was revealed that Lauren Bolton, (Cait Fitton) was alive and well, after viewers believed she had been murdered by evil Joel Deering (Calum Lill). And ITV viewers were in for a bigger shock when they released Lauren was pregnant with Joel’s baby, as she jokes the storyline has ‘put her off having kids for life’. “This storyline’s probably put me off having kids for life,” the star told OK! and other media outlets, at the first RadioTimes.com soap awards, held in Manchester. “The bump is so sweaty, and when you’re doing long days, you don’t have time to take it off.” Despite the sweat, Cait assures the media she’s having fun with it, especially the fact she can ‘eat as much as she wants’.

Cait previously opened up on filming scenes before public knowledge, revealing she had to hide in the boot of Calum’s car when exiting the set. “It’s been quite a hectic week,” she revealed to OK!, as she gushed over the support she’s gotten from viewers. “It’s not top secret anymore, so now I can attend these amazing awards nights and not have to lie about it anymore, I’m very excited!” Speaking on the future of her and Roy Cropper’s relationship, who was wrongly imprisoned for her murder, Cait said: “Lauren feels incredibly guilty with what Roy’s been through. He was very important to Lauren. She’s always looked at him like the dad she’s never had, so we’re going to see another layer to that relationship.” Whether we can expect to see Lauren to stay for long with her baby, Cait said: “I really hope so. I don’t know what’s going to happen moving forward but I really hope I’m there as long as I can be because I love it.” “I feel like I can do a lot with Lauren, what you see is not what you get. I’m hoping that in the long-term I can really dive into the character more.”
