Privacy NoticeStrictly Come Dancing professional Graziano Di Prima has received supportive comments from some of his celebrity partners after being axed from the show over allegations of misconduct towards Zara McDermott. The former cast member was paired with Zara on the show last year but after reports of misconduct came to light on Saturday 13 July, Graziano said that he “deeply regrets” the events that led to his exit. “My intense passion and determination to win might have affected my training regime,” he added. Now, Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley and TV presenter Susannah Constantine have commented messages of support on Graziano’s Instagram statement, however it is unclear whether their comments were left before the allegations were revealed.

Catherine first wrote: ‘What noooo’ before adding a second comment which said: ‘You are the kindest, incredibly talented, most gentle man… I’m so sorry. Sending you so much love x.” Susannah added: “What the helll??? You were always so sweet, kind, funny and thoughtful to me Graziano. Be true to yourself. Cream always rises to the top. Loads of love x.” Meanwhile, Strictly 2019 winner Kelvin Fletcher also commented on the Instagram post, leaving a love heart emoji, and Chizzy Akudolu, who competed in 2015, wrote: “Wait, WHAT??” She followed up her comment with: “I adore you Graz,” with a love heart emoji. News broke on Friday that Graziano had left the show after he faced allegations of physical and verbal behaviour towards his dancer partner Zara. In a full statement to his fans, Graziano wrote: “While respecting the BBC HR process, I acknowledge it’s only right for the sake of the show that I step away.

“I am saddened that I wasn’t allowed to offer a quote to the online news stories, and I take on board the sensitivity of the situation. There’s more to this story that I am unable to discuss at this time, but I am committed to being strong for my family and friends. I wish the Strictly family nothing but success in the future.” The BBC confirmed in a statement that Graziano was “no longer a part of the line-up of professional dancers” for the 2024 series. “While we would never comment on individual cases, it is well-known that the BBC has established and robust duty of care procedures, and if issues are raised we will always take them seriously and act swiftly as appropriate,” the broadcaster added.
