Fans will remember that Ian Beale has been stirring up intrigue recently on the BBC One soap. Last week, the Walford icon raised eyebrows when it was revealed he had been deceiving his family. In Monday’s episode, Ian gets ready to depart for his supposed leadership course, under the disapproving gaze of his son Peter. Meanwhile, Cindy, his on-off partner, grows suspicious when she inspects his suitcase and decides to question Kathy, who she believes is covering for her son Ian. Heeding Kathy’s advice, Cindy heads to Beale’s Eels to confront Ian about a possible affair, but he assures her there’s nothing going on. Later, Cindy’s suspicions heighten as she persuades her ex-husband George Knight to take her to a mysterious address in an attempt to uncover Ian’s secret. Simultaneously, Peter and Bobby tail them, eager to discover their dad’s hidden truth.
Everyone thought Ian was having an affair but he was seeing Jane
After arriving at a countryside property, Cindy was seething with suspicion as she glimpsed a bottle of wine and two glasses through the window, convinced Ian was having an affair. But the truth was far more jaw-dropping as Ian opened the door, Cindy stormed in only to be greeted by Ian’s former spouse Jane Beale, who coolly remarked: “Hello Cindy, I’m Jane..” The unexpected twist and Jane’s dramatic return, unseen since 2017 on the beloved BBC One show, sent fans into a frenzy. Flooding Twitter with delighted reactions, one viewer exclaimed: “Stunning ending – absolutely seated for tomorrow #EastEnders”, while another cheered: “Never been happier to see Jane back! #EastEnders”.
Jane graced our screens in 2004
Someone else was astounded: “JANE BEALE IS BACK? ? #Eastenders” and yet another fan tweeted in excitement: “OMG JANE IS BACK.” The burning question now is why Jane has returned and for how long she’ll stay. Actress Laurie Brett, 55, who plays her and opened up in April about undergoing surgery, first graced our screens on the BBC One soap back in 2004.
Cindy and George catch up with Ian
This comes after Cindy (played by Michelle Collins) and their son Peter (Thomas Law) growing increasingly worried that Ian is hiding something. Brushing off their queries, Ian tells his family that he’s running for council again, but they’re not buying his story.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
