Privacy NoticeColeen Nolan has spoken out about her experiences on Dancing On Ice, maintaining she was ‘screamed at’ by her partner in a conversation surrounding Graziano Di Prima’s dramatic Strictly axe. The Loose Women star took part in the show during the 2009 series, where she was paired with professional skater Stuart Widdall, as the pair finished in fourth place. Amid Graziano Di Prima’s shock departure from BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, after alleged misconduct during training with Zara McDermott, the Loose Women discussed whether viewers should be made more aware of behind the scenes arguments.

“Listen, it’s really intense. The training of any of those shows, it’s incredibly intense,” Coleen said, as she acknowledged a professional’s competitive background can cause ‘lines to get blurred’. “You’re working with people that from childhood have grown up in that intense world of competition, and I think the lines get blurred. “I remember you know, sometimes with my partner, you know, he’d scream at me like ‘Why have you done that?’ And I’d go ‘Because I’m a TV presenter and not an ice skater!”

Coleen then went on to say she had to remind her partner that she was “never going to be at the level he wanted me to be at”. She then explained that she had a ‘few rows’ with her partner at the beginning before they ended up ‘getting on great’. The star then went on to answer the question posed, whether viewers should have access to all Strictly footage, as she said she didn’t want to see the backstage arguments on the show. “Do I think it needs to be watched by the producers and the people behind the scenes and put an end to it? Absolutely,” she said.

“But for an actual family entertainment show, I don’t want it. I never feel uncomfortable watching Strictly, and I do with other shows, and I don’t want to feel uncomfortable. Since the news came to light, Graziano has broken his silence, as he addressed fans. In an Instagram statement, he said: “I deeply regret the events that led to my departure from Strictly. My intense passion and determination to win might have affected my training regime. “While respecting the BBC HR process, I acknowledge it’s only right for the sake of the show that I step away. I am saddened that I wasn’t allowed to offer a quote to the online news stories, and I take on board the sensitivity of the situation.” “There’s more to this story that I am unable to discuss at this time, but I am committed to being strong for my family and friends. I wish the Strictly family nothing but success in the future,” he concluded. Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
