Privacy NoticeThe motive behind EastEnders’ legend Jane Beale’s return has been ‘unveiled’, and it doesn’t bode well for Cindy Beale. Jane, portrayed by Laurie Brett, was a beloved character on the BBC One soap, first appearing in 2004. As Ian Beale’s (Adam Woodyatt) wife, Jane was part of many major Walford moments. Jane featured intermittently on the soap for 13 years, but in 2017, she bid farewell to Albert Square. However, seven years after her last appearance, Jane made a surprising return to the soap this week. As fans will remember, Ian has been keeping a massive secret from his partner Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins). Ian deceived his family by claiming he was running for council again – but his son Peter (Thomas Law) confronted him off-screen to reveal the truth. Suspecting an affair, Cindy discovered an address pre-set into Ian’s sat-nav for a property in the Cotswolds during Monday’s episode (July 15), reports the Daily Star. In a panic, Cindy enlisted ex-George Knight (Colin Salmon) to drive her to the address, a mysterious cottage. After pounding on the front door, Ian eventually opened up and Cindy stormed through the house. In a classic EastEnders’ moment, Cindy turned towards Jane as she introduced herself. Now, fans believe they’ve ‘figured out’ the reason for Jane’s unexpected return. On social media, fans speculate that Jane is back to seek revenge on Cindy for her earlier infidelity with George this year. On a Reddit thread, one person speculated: “I still wonder if she’s going to be the one to blow Cindy out of the water.” Another chimed in: “She’s back to kill Cindy.”

Meanwhile, on Twitter, viewers are all abuzz with anticipation for Cindy and Jane’s showdown. One tweeted: “Twitter seated for Cindy and Jane’s feud.” Another excitedly posted: “Omg Jane is back Cindy needs to watch out.” while someone else predicted: “Jane is definitely going to get revenge on Cindy.” Another fan expressed their excitement, saying: “So happy it was Jane! and I hope she puts Cindy in her place if she tries to come for her because they’ve both done horrible things.” Catch the drama unfold on EastEnders, airing Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
