Privacy NoticeLove Island’s Joey Essex might think he’s the biggest star on the show but all that is set to change tonight with a new arrival blowing him out of the water in the celebrity stakes. It comes as the Islanders are let out of the villa for a special pool party in a remote ‘beach club’ outside the villa – where they are welcomed by the singing star. In scenes set to air this evening, pop superstar Jess Glynne welcomes them in, telling the assembled crowd: “I’ve been watching the show and I’m actually invested!” She then performs hits including her new single, as the cast chant: “We love you Jess!” Sign up to OK!’s daily newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free

However, as is so often the way with Love Island, the happy mood lasts just seconds after Jess’ performance, with the star announcing: ““I’m actually gassed right now, as I’ve got a little surprise.” Two new bombshells are then ushered into the villa, before Maya Jama arrives with the grim news that one couple is getting the axe – and she’s about to reveal the results of the public vote. Dressed in a bikini top, host Maya, 29, tells the assembled couples: “Islanders, sorry to interrupt your little shindig, the party is over…can you please all line up in front of the pool?” She goes on: “The public have been voting for the most compatible couple” before confirming that one couple will be dumped from the villa – and the hit series – tonight. Love Island returns to ITV2 and ITVX tonight at 9pm.
