The two caught up and discovered they had been engaging with each other’s Instagram content. Lola then shook things up by going on a date with Joey and Reuben. However, it was the age gap between Joey and Lola that got people on social media talking. Fans took to Twitter to express their astonishment, with one tweeting: “did Lola say she’s 22 and did Joey say he knows her? ? #loveisland,” while another commented: “Lola’s 22 and joey is what 33? Them knowing each other is a madness #loveIsland.”

Confessing to the islanders how much she loves the show, she said: “I’ve been watching the show and I’m actually invested!”. But the evening took a sudden turn, when Maya Jama crashed the party with some massive news. Maya made her entrance with an attention-grabbing announcement: “Islanders, sorry to interrupt your little shindig, the party is over… can you please all line up in front of the pool. The public have been voting for the most compatible couple…” hinting that one pair would be packing their stuff from the villa tonight. Two islanders will now be dumped from the island in the next episode, with their fate in Ciaran and Nicole’s hands after they were voted the villa’s favourite couple by the public.
