Privacy NoticeYouTube rapper Yung Filly, known off-stage as Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos, might be stuck in Australia for a lengthy hiatus of two years while he awaits his trial date. The 29 year old artist found himself under arrest in Brisbane earlier this month over claims he assaulted a woman at a Perth hotel. Following his arrest on 8 October, he was whisked away to Perth the next day. After appearing in court for the first time on 10 October, he secured conditional bail with strict instructions not to refer to his case on social media or contact the alleged victim.

The legal system in Australia has him cornered, possibly keeping him from departing its shores until his trial wraps up, which might not be before late 2026. His next court date is penned in for December this year, while he’s reportedly settled into accommodation in Perth for an initial six-month spell. The MailOnline has claimed to have witnessed documents from Perth Magistrates Court that outlines the alleged series of events during the night of the allegations. It states: “It now has also been revealed that the British musician will have to spend two years in Western Australia waiting for a trial by jury on eight charges in the WA District Court, which should effectively put his music career on hold.”

OK! has contacted Yung Filly’s representatives for comment. His friend Amin Mohamed, known as Chunkz on YouTube, addressed the case online. In an Instagram video clip, he said: “Like everyone I’ve heard the reports coming out of Australia. While I understand many of you want my reaction on it, as this is an ongoing court case I hope you guys understand that I can’t and won’t be commenting on it publicly, so yeah I’ve just come on here to basically let you know the reasons as to why I can’t. Love.” Yung Filly took to social media earlier this year to share the exciting news that he was going to be a dad for the first time. In a video posted in May, he expressed his joy and said: “Ladies and gentlemen, if you watch my videos then you would know that I really love God. But as well as loving God so much, what I really would love in this world is family. And um… I’m having a baby.” He also added a touching caption: “Boy or girl either way I’m blessed.
