Privacy Notice Kai Widdrington has enjoyed a day out with his former Strictly Come Dancing celeb partner after news broke that he has split from stunning pro dancer girlfriend Nadiya Bychkova. The pair – a couple since 2022 – are reported to have decided to part ways after they “grew apart” following what they once called two “blissful” years together. Speaking about the pair, who recently revealed to OK! that they hoped to start a family, a source told The Sun: “It’s heart-breaking. Kai and Nadiya seemed like the most perfect couple and have been so, so blissfully in love.” They added that the pair were keen not to let the break-up affect the forthcoming series of Strictly, saying: “After a tough few weeks, they sat down together and decided to call it quits.” Both of them have been seen out in public in recent days – with 28-year-old Kai this afternoon sharing pictures of a trip to London he enjoyed with news legend Angela Rippon, whom he danced with on the most recent series of Strictly.

The pair, who outlasted the likes of Zara McDermott and Adam Thomas to be the eighth couple eliminated from Strictly in 2023, had a day out at the Houses of Parliament, with him posing in a smart suit. Alongside him was Angela, 79, who was smiling in an elegant green suit at the State Opening of Parliament as they watched the King’s horses and posed alongside Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle. Posting on Instagram he wrote: “Thank you to mr speaker for the invitation to the state opening of parliament. Swipe right to see @theangelarippon s delight at of the amount of beautiful kings horses there were” alongside a picture of her taking a video of the procession. OK! has contacted reps for Kai and Nadiya for comment on their break-up. It comes after Kai told us he had to “pinch myself” to remind himself he was really dating Nadiya, saying:: “I think I speak for most of the men in Britain when I say that they would find Nadiya absolutely drop-dead gorgeous.” He added that they told Strictly bosses at the BBC about their relationship as a “courtesy” but said they battled to keep it under wraps for as long as possible, explaining: “It was one of those things. “We would go somewhere and only we knew we were there. Sometimes we would go out in disguise, or baseball caps pulled down low, etc, and we knew this period of time was only going to last a little bit”. The couple previously opened up to OK! about their hopes of getting married and starting a family together one day. Speaking at their first joint photoshoot, Nadiya said: “Marriage is important to me. One day I would like to be a wife, and extend my family.” Kai added: “It’s a future I want, too, absolutely. I would love to be a dad and one day be a husband and have a family.
