Privacy NoticeJacqueline Jossa has candidly opened up about her decision to go on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! last year. The 27 year old former EastEnders actress said she wanted to “gain control” of her life following allegations her husband Dan Osborne had slept with Gabby Allen, which he furiously denied. After entering the jungle, Jacqueline was a hit with the ITV hit show’s viewers and went on to be crowed Queen of the Jungle.

But, the TV star, who recently slammed people for not self-isolating, revealed she would not have gone on the show if she was asked earlier in her career. Speaking to Bobby Norris on an Instagram live video as they both sat in their homes, she was asked by the The Only Way Is Essex star if she had any reservations about going into the jungle. She said: “Really weird thing, because if you asked me four years ago: ‘Would you ever do the jungle,’ I’d say no. “But, that’s probably for a number of things, I think, people back in the day would judge you for doing a show like that and it’s like: ‘You’ve ruined your career’. “And I was an actress and I was like: ‘I wanna be an actress and I don’t wanna be anything else’ and I felt like if I do this, if I take that step, will I ever work again? Will I be entering that world?”

Jacqueline then revealed how she felt that she was being treated like a reality TV star, despite never doing a reality show, as she said: “But, then it got to a point where I was already in that world and I had never done a reality TV show in my whole entire life. “All I’ve ever done before the jungle was EastEnders, I’ve done two Good Morning Britain interviews and a couple of Loose Women and that is literally it, I’ve never done anything like that before. “And my life was already getting ripped to shreds and opened up and everybody was talking about it already and I thought: ‘This is almost a way of gaining control back and taking things into my own hands’ and being like, ‘that’s not true, this is me as a person’.

“And I actually felt it was time now. I kind of wanted to be myself and not have to keep walking about thinking people are judging a different version of me.” Bobby, 33, agreed with Jacqueline’s comments and told her: “You felt like at a period before going into the jungle your life had almost become a real life reality show, which probably makes your mind up to think: ‘If I finally do it it’s coming from my mouth, it’s me doing it.’ “You took the reigns back, you took the control and I think it was the right thing for you to do.” To which Jacqueline said: “Yeah, definitely. No regrets at all.”
