During the broadcast, Alex beamed as she revealed a festive collaboration: “We have got some exciting news, because this year The One Show is teaming up with The Repair Shop to give one of you a very special Christmas treat.” Alex enthused about the opportunity for viewers to get their beloved items restored to glory: “So if you have a treasured possession that needs repairing or sprucing up, we would love to hear from you.” Her co-host Roman couldn’t contain his excitement, adding: “I promise you this is one of the best things you could ever do.”

Roman then shared a personal story that resonated deeply, telling how his mum’s cherished Christmas Angel, a family heirloom since her childhood, was torn apart by the dog. Thankfully, it was beautifully mended, leading to an unforgettable Christmas: “It was honestly, it made Christmas last year.”, reports Wales Online. An emotional clip featuring Roman’s mum Shirlie being presented with the newly restored angel followed, touching hearts across the nation, with Alex commenting on the heartfelt moment: “You can hear she’s emotional, lovely!” In more personal updates from Alex, just last month she spoke about enduring a “sad week” Conversing with McFly’s Harry Judd on their fresh podcast, Binge!, she confided: “It is a bit of a sad week, actually, because my mother-in-law, Annabel… she is a really, really beautiful woman, lovely.”

The presenter shared a heartfelt update about her mother-in-law: “And she has been over for five weeks from Auckland, staying with us, and she has just been there as we’ve settled the children into new schools, seen the new house, she is just a good person to have around.” “She pulls Charlie into line which is the key reason I love her but she left on Wednesday and that was really sad because we just don’t know when we will see her again,” she further expressed. Alex is wed to Charlie Thomson, and they share three adorable children, Teddy, seven, Kit, four, and Annie, two.
