Privacy NoticeFormer This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield has been spotted “loving life” on his Instagram story, sharing a snap of his adorable new puppy Alfie. The 61 year old TV personality, who had an exit from the limelight in 2023 after he admitted to an ‘unwise but not illegal’ affair with a younger male colleague and a fallout with long-time friend Holly Willoughby, is rumoured to be planning a major TV comeback this year. While Holly continued her stint on This Morning for a while, Phillip parted ways with ITV entirely. Now, it seems the former Dancing on Ice host is slowly dipping his toes back into social media, occasionally posting about his furry friend. His latest Instagram Story features his pup Alfie frolicking in a paddling pool on a sun-soaked patio, with Phillip captioning the moment: “Loving life,” and noting the balmy 26-degree weather. While nothing is confirmed regarding his return to television, recent sightings of him with Declan Donnelly have sparked rumours that he might be eyeing a comeback Down Under. Dec and his co-host Ant McPartlin host I’m A Celebrity in Australia, leading to speculation that Phillip could be looking to restore his image on the popular reality show, reports the Express. Phillip’s reputation took a hit last year when he confessed to having an affair with a younger colleague. The presenter maintained a low profile and steered clear of social media following the revelation. In a candid BBC interview, he admitted to deceiving his family and bosses about the relationship, crediting his daughters for saving his life. The father of two admitted feeling “broken and ashamed” as he took a break from the spotlight to spend time with his parents in Cornwall. His close friend and fellow presenter, Lorraine Kelly, expressed her heartbreak over his situation in an interview with The Sunday Times Magazine earlier this year. She said: “I was heartbroken when all that happened. It’s just a shame for the amazing career that he’s had, for it to end like that.”

Edward Coram James, CEO of Go Up and a crisis management expert, believes that Phillip’s discretion during this difficult time could pave the way for a career comeback. Speaking to the Mirror recently, he said: “It’s hardly surprising that Schofield is now considering a comeback, and that producers and networks may be lining up to make him job offers.” He added: “There are many ways that Schofield could have reacted that could have cemented his fate for the worse. Instead, his behaviour during and after the scandal is a textbook example of how people should act in the face of PR disaster. It’s a feat that very few manage to pull off. But it’s given Schofield the opportunity for a second chance.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
