Privacy NoticeCoronation Street fans have only just realised that Emrhys Cooper, who stars as Rowan Cunliffe on the ITV soap, was in a hugely popular movie 16 years ago. The 39 year old actor made his debut on Coronation Street in March this year as villain Rowan, who has been causing chaos on the cobbles. He’s groomed and manipulated Leanne Battersby into confessing her darkest secrets and blackmailed Leanne’s partner Nick Tilsley and her sister Toyah over their affair. If that wasn’t enough Rowan is also getting vulnerable Leanne to groom Amy Barlow in a bid to get her £40K inheritance.

Before making the big storylines on Corrie, Emrhys said he was “nervous” about joining C the soap after his huge move from the US. The actor previously said: “I lived in America for 15 years, and the last few years I’ve been dying to come back, but I was just waiting for the right opportunity, and then I got this audition, and I came back to Manchester, and I’ve just been so happy here. “And I was nervous about joining the show. I’ve just always looked up to it and been a fan, and people couldn’t be nicer from the get go, friendly, open arms, and I worked with Jane and Sue on my first day, and immediately I just felt really at home so and it’s been like that ever since.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
