Entertainment reporter Jordan North was discussing the buzz around The Voice possibly launching a celebrity edition when he mentioned Alison’s own singing talents. The conversation turned to Alison’s past performance alongside Cat Deeley on Stars in Their Eyes, leaving Joel Dommett utterly surprised. “I was only young though!” Alison exclaimed. As the show played a flashback of Alison channelling Nina Simone all the way back in 2004. Alison was seen visibly squirmed and hid her face from the camera as she watched back the clip on the sofa.. Joel responded warmly after the clip, saying, “Oh Alison! Makes me want to cry and I don’t even know why! This is so nice.” But it was the sight of her late mum in the audience that really caught Alison off guard. She said, touched: “Oh look at my mum! Look at my mum. Aw, I love it just for that bit.
