Privacy NoticeLiam Payne’s sister Nicola has broken her silence on the One Direction star’s untimely death, days after his passing, in a heartbreaking statement in which she said he was “truly too good for this earth”. She took to her Instagram on Monday 21 October to share the tribute for her 31-year-old sibling, who died last week after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina. “When I saw the news pop up on my phone that you had left us, I went cold,” she wrote. “I wanted so much for it to be untrue. I spent days hoping that it was a mistake. “You were truly too good for this earth, you are an angel who lived to make people smile and be happy. You have always shown kindness to everyone you met and it shows with just how many people have confirmed what we always knew!

“We don’t have many pictures together as we never really did that as a family, we never wanted you to feel like you were in a room of fans. But we were your biggest fans – always and forever.” She added: “Your talent alone puts your miles ahead, but also you being you. You led your life with a motto of, ‘Why bother doing something unless you are brilliant at it?’ Liam, you were certainly brilliant at everything you did.” Nicola added: “Unfortunately, this cruel world is always too quick to judge someone from a five-second clip. They think it enables them to be able to speak like they know you. We knew you, and we loved you.

“I hope that you finally found some peace up there and that you always continue to look after us all as you have done in life. We’ll make sure Bear knows about his daddy and how much you loved him. We promise this. See you soon, Liam. Love you xx.” Nicola shared several pictures of Liam from over the years in her post, including three of her smiling beside him. Her followers flocked to the comment section to pay tribute to the late singer and show support for Nicola and the rest of his family. One penned: “Nicola, I’m so sorry for your loss. You guys are in my thoughts and prayers. Love you all.” Meanwhile, another said: “I am so deeply sorry for you Nicola. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you, Ruth, Karen, Geoff, and your family. I remember he once told us about a childhood story where you were watching him one day when your parents were out. You both ended up breaking a door’s glass, and your parents were furious. He always was talking about you with so much love, you, his sisters, and he’ll be watching you proudly from there up.” A third said: “I will always carry Liam in my heart, and I will always love him as I have done since I was 12 years old. He was a great boy, and he will be remembered forever. Nicola, I send you a big hug for you and your whole family during these difficult times. I pray to God that he gives you strength and peace in your hearts for such a difficult time.” Another added: “I’m so sorry Nic for your devastating loss, thoughts and prayers are with you all.” A post-mortem has revealed Liam died of “internal and external haemorrhage” and multiple traumas as a result of the fall, according to Argentina’s National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office No 16. Prosecutor Marcelo Roma has ordered further tests, including histopathological, biochemical, and toxicological studies, to rule out the possibility of drug and alcohol involvement, The Mirror reports.
